Education
FNP, University of Tennessee
Heena Patel graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She worked as a floor nurse at UT Medical Center and St. Mary’s Health System (now Tennova) on various specialty floors while working towards her Master’s degree in nursing.
After receiving her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2003 from the University of Tennessee, she began working for Summit Medical Group providing comprehensive care to patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. For 13 years, she managed patients with multiple chronic health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and dyslipidemia along with providing acute care. She performed
in-office procedures such as cyst removals, joint injections, and suture placements while working alongside physicians and fellow nurse practitioners. Her experience also includes precepting many nurse practitioners and physician assistant students.
She has been married to her husband since 2003, and they have two children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, and UT football.
