Surgical Fellow
Physician Assistants & Nurse Practioners
Emeritus
Juyeon Park, MD
Dr. Juyeon Park joins University Surgeons Associates as the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellow for the year 2023-2024. In addition to practicing general surgery, she is receiving training in bariatrics, robotics, and advanced endoscopic techniques. She has a strong interest in resident education and innovative surgical technology development.
Dr. Park was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the United States at a young age. She completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience and graduated with high distinction from the University of Virginia. She was a part of the fifth graduating class to gain a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in 2018. Dr. Park recently completed her general surgery residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. She was awarded senior resident of the year in her third year of training. Her research and academic interests in her training included evaluating differences in resident and attending confidence in the resident to improve resident autonomy in the operating room and understanding factors involved in adolescent metabolic and bariatric surgery.
In her spare time, Dr. Park can be found hiking, running, or decorating her apartment oasis. She is looking forward to her fellowship year to experience some warmer weather and to help the kind patient population of East Tennessee.
