HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The surgeons of University Surgeons Associates have established and personally contribute to the following gift funds at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville:
- The General Surgery Gift Fund – Supports the educational and research efforts of the Division of General Surgery
- The University of Tennessee Rural Surgery Endowment Fund – Supports all aspects of the development of the rural surgery program. Especially the educational experiences of students, residents, fellows and practicing rural surgeons. Currently, there is a dollar for dollar matching challenge grant for the first $10,000 donated to this fund.
- The Nelson Chair of Excellence in General Surgery – Enhances the ability to attract talented leadership as Chief of the Division of General Surgery and honors three generations of general surgeons in the Nelson family. There is a dollar for dollar matching challenge grant for all donations to this fund.
These funds support the various aspects of the mission of the Division of General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville and represent areas of special interest and importance to us. Ultimately this mission is to make a difference in your care and the care of the people of our region. If you would like to join us in these efforts we would be grateful and we would encourage you to discuss this with your surgeon. If you prefer, please, feel free to contact the Office of Development directly. You may make a contribution in honor of a loved one or an individual. To the extent allowable by IRS and UT guidelines you may direct how your contribution is to be used.
Gifts to programs within UT Medical Center and the UT Graduate School of Medicine have a tremendous impact. They support gift funds benefitting patient care, education, research and public service in all areas of the Medical Center.
UT Medical Center and the UT Graduate School of Medicine are not-for-profit organizations, and all gifts to UT Medical Center and the UT Graduate School of Medicine are deductible to the extent of current IRS guidelines.
