Dr. Daigle was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies in Memphis, Tennessee at Rhodes College, earning her Bachelor of Science in biology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in music. After college she attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she volunteered with the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine helping test and teach a curriculum to educate patients on how to cook and eat healthy.

She earned the class high scores on the U.S. medical licensing exams and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for her academic achievements. Concurrent with her medical training, she studied epidemiology at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, earning a Master of Public Health degree and gaining a greater understanding of biostatistics and how disease moves through communities.

Dr. Daigle completed her general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Earning the nickname “no nonsense Daigle,” she was commended by her attendings and her peers as the person who get things done and a leader who leads from the front.

Dr. Daigle recently completed her fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at University Surgeons Associates and the UT Graduate School of Medicine. Her research interests include establishing protocols to minimize narcotic use following surgery, increasing operating room cost awareness among surgeons, and the association between engagement in social media-based support groups and success after weight loss surgery.

Dr. Daigle is married and has one “fur child,” a Corgi. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking, cooking, and arts and crafts, particularly beadwork and embroidery. Though she was born on the bayou, she is greatly enjoying her time at Rocky Top.
